SJT Opening – From Caragiale to Șalom Alehem

The State Jewish Theater will have the opening of the ”From Caragiale to Shalom Alehem” performance on Sunday, on the 13th of December, from 16.00 and 18.00 o’clock.

Contemporary and inspiring themselves from the tumultuous life of the Eastern Europeans in the nineteenth century, Caragiale and Shalom Alehem have many common literary subjects, which individualizes them culturally. The performance that we propose you highlights exactly these symbolic approaches.

The transition between the two literary worlds is achieved in a train, mean of transport which revolutionized the daily life of that period. The train is also the central theme for both of the writers: socialization, knowledge, rescue, escape and amusement at the same time.

Cast: Rudi Rosenfeld, Cornel Ciupercescu, Geni Brenda, Viorica Bantaș, Andrei Miercure, Dorina Păunescu, Arabela Neazi, Nicolae Botezatu, Tudor Istodor, Veaceslav Grosu, Maia Morgenstern, Mihai Ciucă, Nicolae Călugărița, Neculai Predica și Darius Daradici. The direction is a collective one. The stage design is signed by Adina Mastalier, the musical illustration is made by Florea Cîrstea and the video projection by Oana Monica Nae.
